Playing in the Sprinklers

Let me tell you what happened yesterday at Mission Hills Park: Ms. Sue and Ms. Kathy had just leveled me, put the wheel chocks in place, and put the "Bookmobile Open" sign out, when the sprinklers came on, right beside me! Unknown to Ms. Kathy, the sign had been put right over one of the sprinkler heads, so the water was shooting out into the street like crazy. Ms. Kathy went out to move the sign so the water would be able to stay on the grass, and it got her! All over the front of her! After she moved the sign, it looked like she thought she was safe from getting wetter, but the sprinkler came around and got her backside, too. It was pretty funny, really. You should've been there, really! And, I got all wet, too! Well, at least half of me, anyway... So, here is what it looked like when the sprinklers were on:

Thank goodness the sprinkling didn't last too long, and everything dried up before any visitors came aboard!

Spring Break Brings 'em In!

We had lots of tots and teens on the Bookmobile at Anthem Hills today looking for good books to get them through Spring Break. What a great way to add to the fun of a week free from school. Plus, we checked out way more books than movies - we love it when that happens! Happy reading to all and we hope to see you back at Anthem for more great books from MEL in two weeks.

Tuesday Pictures

I thought it might be interesting for you to see what I see as I go to and from the Whitney Ranch Bookmobile Stop, so....here it is, a story in pictures:

And here's where I will be plugged in and stay the night, at the Paseo Verde Library!

A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood

It was a gorgeous sunshiny day at Whitney Ranch. We had a few new visitors, some stayed awhile... read stories and played with our wonderful collection of hand puppets. What a great experience for young ones to visit the bookmobile! It was so sunny today that we left the door open and it actually got up to 91 degrees inside MEL. Looks like summer is right around the corner, but don't worry we'll have the AC on. We hope to see you soon.
