Summer Reading is Hot! on MEL

Even under today's blazing desert sun that brought air temps to 107 degrees, MEL was nice and cool at our stop at Mission Hills. But the Summer Reading program was super-hot! We had lots of eager readers of all ages either sign up on board or rush home to sign up online. We are all excited about the great prizes; and we know that those Shark Reef passes for kids (we wish WE were 11 years old again!) will keep 'em motivated all summer long.

MEL will be at Mission Hills again July 1, ready to start handing out those prizes. So come on by - we're planning our own little Christmas in July!

Old Friends, New Friends!


Take a look at our first-time visitors to the bookmobile: Lisa, her mother Mona, and Lisa's big brother Nathan! We already knew Lisa and her mother, because they have attended our Bright Beginnings Learn and Play Story Times! We were so glad to see them here, and it was great meeting Nathan. They read their books here on the cool bookmobile for a little while, then after checking out, promised they'd come back every time they can! Yea!

It was great seeing everyone today, as it always is. We're glad you enjoy our service!

Thirst Quenched!

Today, we got to go to one of my favorite places. Can you guess what it is? That's right--it's the gas station! I love it! I only get to go there once in a while, and by the time I get to go there, well, I'm really thirsty! The one thing that I don't understand is, I heard Ms. Kathy and Ms. LisaKay sounding a little bit grumbly about having to go there today. I also heard them talking about how they don't really have much fun taking their cars to the gas station, either. Hmm....

Well, anyway, here's what the gas station looked liked. Can anyone out there tell me why they didn't like getting gas for me today? I would like to understand...
